Back to school shopping: It's not just for kids! You've sent your little ones off to school wearing the best brand names your second mortgage can buy. Why not treat yourself to something new, too? Dunwoody is home to the legendary Perimeter Mall, but today we're looking at our locals. The stores and boutiques that make Dunwoody unique. Let's talk shop.

Perhaps you need new jewelry to complement your fall wardrobe. Or a cozy candle to welcome a new season. What about decor for the front door? Under the Pecan Tree's got it all.

Atlanta locals Amanda and Davis Scoles run the store, which happens to be located under a big old pecan tree on 5482 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. The shop name is also a tribute to Amanda's mom, who reminisced fondly about days spent under the pecan tree by the barn as a child. You will be quizzed on this.

Enchanted Forest

Hair bows, bath bombs, t-shirts, totes and princess capes. Walking through Enchanted Forest does feel slightly magical, as if you could wish whatever you want into existence. Like a hat featuring the Atlanta airport code (all the cool kids are wearing them). Or a shirt that shows your Southern pride. You might even be lucky enough to meet the little woodland fairy pictured above, who often models new products for the shop. Hogwarts students will be jealous.

Shopping 101: Buy second-hand. You never know what treasure you may stumble upon, and you'll save a fortune too. Here's your homework: Visit Consigning Women at 2508 Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody.

The consignment shop frequently refreshes their racks with big brands like Louis Vuitton, Lily Pulitzer, J. Crew and Madewell. They all have a "Featured Products" section on their website, where you can browse curated finds available in-store. Like a Dooney and Bourke bag! Or an Armani Exchange jacket! We give this local Dunwoody shop an A+.
