Your Guide to The Village Holiday Celebration

The Holidays are here and Dunwoody is ready to celebrate. The first annual Village Holiday Celebration will be on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 4:30 p.m.

This exciting event welcomes all ages to ring in the holiday season through events and activities like a Village tree lighting, lantern parade, local performances, hot chocolate and smores, free pictures with Santa and more. Show your holiday cheer, connect with your community and create a special memory at The Village Holiday Celebration. Keep reading to hear more about the activities and event details.

Tree Lighting

The Village will be getting its very own Christmas tree this year. This tree is going on a holiday adventure, coming all the way from Canada to bring cheer to Dunwoody! Drop an ornament off at Bar{n} between Nov. 21 and Nov. 23 to see your own ornament on The Village Christmas tree at the Holiday Celebration. The tree lighting will be at 6:00 p.m., with the lantern parade immediately after. Don’t miss this opportunity to see your ornament light up! Lantern Parade

The celebration will close out in the most magical way possible, a lantern parade. If you are going to Light Up Dunwoody on Nov. 17, you can pick up your lantern kit early! Create Dunwody will be selling paper lanterns at Light Up Dunwoody on Nov. 17 at the Burger King lot, Functionize and The Village Ace Hardware in advance for you to decorate at home. Want to wait to decorate your lantern at The Village Holiday Celebration? Pick one up for $15 at Ace Hardware or Functionize. Get your holiday creative juices flowing because prizes will be given out for the most creative and the most artistic lanterns. Prizes include a $200 gift card to Fresh Market, $100 gift card to Shine Hair Parlor, $100 gift card to Perimeter tennis, $50 gift card to Village Burger and a $50 gift card to Village restaurants. Join us to light up the night with festive lanterns and parade around The Village with your family, friends and neighbors.

  4. The Music Class: Musical fun for ages four and under. Free at 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. (adults required)

  6. Synovus Bank at Valor Coffee: Balloon Creation
  7. Alloy: Ornament Making / Quiet Room
  8. Little Gym: Kiddos can have fun at the little gym during the event. Time slots are between 4:00-5:00 p.m. and 5:00-6:00 p.m. Please register on their website for $20.

  10. Dunwoody Gallery: Apple Cider/Holiday Music
  11. Village Threads: Ugly Sweater Contest
  12. Create Dunwoody & Discover Dunwoody: Selfie Station, Maps and Prizes

  14. The Village Courtyard: S'mores/Hot Chocolate
  15. Premier Tennis: Pickleball Games and Prizes

Opening Comments: 4:30 p.m. to 4:35 p.m.

Lighthouse Senior Dance: 4:35 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

Corners Outreach Singers: 4:40 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.

Lighthouse Senior Dance: 4:55 p.m. to 5:05 p.m.

Dunwoody 5th grade singers: 4:50 p.m. to 4:55 p.m.

Lighthouse Choir and Dance: 5:05 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.

J Dance Company: 5:25 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

All other activities will be available from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. when the tree lighting begins, followed immediately by the lantern parade.

Grab your friends, family and neighbors. Throw on your holiday sweater and come down to the village to sip hot chocolate, parade with your lantern, see your ornament light up on The Village Christmas tree and enjoy live music and entertainment. Don’t forget to stop in to shop at your favorite spots at The Village.
