Discover Dunwoody Highlights Carly Schoepflin
The Monthly Distinguished Production Associate for July
Discover Dunwoody is proud to recognize Carly Schoepflin as the July recipient of the Distinguished Production Associate Recognition Program, an initiative designed to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes of the film and entertainment industry. These individuals play an essential role behind the scenes and don’t always receive the recognition they deserve. Carly’s career reflects steady growth, adaptability, and a strong commitment to the industry, and we’re pleased to highlight her accomplishments this month.
From the Stage to the Set
Carly’s love for performance began early. At just 15 years old, she booked her first role in the pilot episode of “Homeland,” launching her into a promising career in front of the camera. Fueled by a deep love for theater and music, she pursued acting throughout her teenage years, appearing in a variety of projects while signed with a talent agency.
Her behind-the-scenes journey began in college at Kennesaw State University, where she enrolled in the Georgia Film Academy. An internship with a line producer on an indie film introduced her to the world of production, a pivotal experience that sparked a new passion. Carly quickly adapted to life off-screen, landing a role as a production assistant on the hit series “Ozark.” There, she got her first taste in coordinating travel for cast and crew, a role that would eventually become her professional focus.
Growing a Career Behind the Camera
Over the past few years, Carly has advanced through a variety of production roles, gaining valuable experience as an assistant production coordinator, production coordinator, and travel coordinator. Her consistent growth and hard work have earned her a strong reputation among crews and colleagues alike.
She has built a strong foundation in key production hubs including Atlanta, Savannah, Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey. Her recent credits include high-profile projects like HBO’s “Task,” Apple TV+’s “Dope Thief,” Netflix’s “Back in Action,” and her current work on Universal/Amblin’s “Cape Fear,” where she continues to demonstrate her skill in handling large-scale logistics.
A recent career milestone came when Carly was invited to join an international franchise film earlier this year. Although the opportunity didn’t move forward, being considered was a meaningful achievement that aligned with her long-term goals in travel coordination.
In addition to advancing her title, Carly has taken on leadership responsibilities by supervising her own team and overseeing multiple shooting units simultaneously. Her work has also taken her on the road, allowing her to combine her love of travel with her growing expertise in production.
Looking Ahead
Carly’s goals for the future include returning to her acting roots and eventually stepping into the role of a creative producer. With a passion for storytelling and a firm foundation in both production and performance, Carly is uniquely positioned to continue making a powerful impact in the film industry.
As Dunwoody continues to grow as a destination for the film and entertainment industry, we are honored to celebrate professionals like Carly who help bring productions to life from behind the scenes. Congratulations, Carly, on this well-deserved recognition!
