Peach Buzz from Top Location Managers and Film Industry Pros
Ever since Ray Charles put Georgia on everyone’s minds, fabulous film locations and professional film studios have helped keep it there.
Here’s recent proof of Georgia’s strong gravitational pull: the 2025 summertime blockbuster "Superman" filmed at Trilith Studios and various locations around the state. Match that with another summertime box office blitz that chose multiple metro Atlanta locations—"Weapons".
Perhaps nobody appreciates Georgia and its metropolitan area more than location managers and scouts, travel coordinators, and television series production supervisors who say the Peach State delivers precisely what they need. So we asked these pros, “Why Georgia?” And this is what they said:
“I'm from the South, and I've lived in Atlanta for well over a decade now. And I’ve spent most of my career based out of here. So it's really gratifying to see this come to life. As you know, for "Superman", we were based just south of the city at Trilith Studios for all of our pre-production and the work on stages. But we also had a number of very significant locations in the story that are here in Georgia, as well … It was really cool to see Georgia so prominently featured on the big screen in such a really touching and human story, as part of a project that has generated so much excitement and interest not only in Georgia but around the world”.
–Ian Easterbrook, Location Manager, work includes Superman: Legacy (2025)

Just north of the I-285 perimeter, “location-wise, Dunwoody has good access to 400, to go anywhere in the city … and easy access to [Assembly Studios]. Dunwoody has grown to make a great extension of Atlanta.”
–Ashley Saunders, Travel Coordinator, work includes "Avengers: Endgame" (2019) and "Breadwinner" (2025)

“I love it here at Assembly … and they know I love it. They're very accommodating. The lot is beautiful and this is home … this is in a very convenient area. I live in the area, but even if someone doesn't live here, it's right off the interstate. You can actually see it from I-285”
–LaQuanda Plantt, Production Supervisor, work includes "Beyond the Gates" (2025)

“If a production is going to add VFX to an actual location [for example], I am sending them into a place with the ‘bones.’ Georgia’s got great bones.”
–Jen Farris, Location Scout, work includes "Dashing Through the Snow" (2023)
