In February 2025, the city installed SaveStations with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at Brook Run Park (playground and multi-use fields), Two Bridges Park, and Pernoshal Park. These life-saving devices are accessible to anyone during emergencies, featuring clear audio and visual instructions with no training required.

Dunwoody takes its commitment to accessibility seriously. The city has developed and regularly updates its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan, which outlines the city's efforts to identify and address barriers to accessibility in public facilities, programs, and services.

Dunwoody's parks and recreational facilities have been evaluated for ADA accessibility and compliance:

1. Brook Run Park: All facilities, including the playground, multi-use trail, skate park, dog park, community garden, pavilions, and public restrooms, are accessible.
2. Dunwoody Nature Center: The main building, eco classroom, North Wood Pavilion, and public restrooms are all accessible.
3. Windwood Hollow Park: This park features a playground specifically designed for children with special needs, as well as accessible tennis courts, a pavilion, and public restrooms.
4. Georgetown Park, Pernoshal Park, and Two Bridges Park: All facilities in these parks are accessible, including playgrounds, trails, and public restrooms.

Getting around Dunwoody is becoming increasingly accessible:

• Dunwoody MARTA Station: This wheelchair-accessible station connects Dunwoody to the greater Atlanta area.
• Sidewalks and Crosswalks: As of 2024, Dunwoody has 88 miles of sidewalks. The city is actively working to improve accessibility, having reduced the percentage of non-compliant ramps from 50% to 37% since 2015.
• Ongoing Improvements: The city's 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan includes numerous projects to enhance accessibility, such as new sidewalks, path improvements, and intersection upgrades.

• Accessible on-site parking (including van-accessible)
• Accessible entrances and routes throughout the hotel
• Accessible guest rooms with features like roll-in showers and visual alarms

• Similar features to AC Hotel, plus an accessible pool with a self-operating lift
  

3. Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia:

• 35 wheelchair accessible parking spaces
• Ramp access to various areas of the hotel
• Braille signage in guest rooms and public areas
  

4. Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Center:

• Accessible routes throughout the hotel
• Accessible swimming pool
• Digital alarm clocks with sound and strobe light options

5. Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody:

• Accessible business center and exercise facility
• Braille room numbers
• TTY for guest use

6. Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter:

• Accessible pool entrance
• Mobility accessible rooms with various features
• Secondary locks on room windows for added safety

Dunwoody goes above and beyond to support individuals with special needs through Logan's Law:

• The Dunwoody Police Department, in partnership with Chatcomm 911, has established a local Logan's Law database.
• This initiative helps first responders provide more compassionate assistance by raising awareness of potential triggers for individuals with special needs.
• Residents can register family members with special needs who live or work in Dunwoody using the Special Concerns Response Form.
