Dunwoody Defined
You think you know yourself. But ask a friend to describe you. Ask someone you work with. Ask someone you knew ten years ago. What picture would emerge?
In celebration of our 10th year as a city, we’ve done some serious self-reflection and tried to identify the key things that form our vibrant city’s story. What’s emerged from that is “Dunwoody Defined,” a short film series spotlighting the faces and places that make our city go.
In 2018, we released the first nine episodes and were blown away by the response. Locals loved it. Visitors flocked to the restaurants, attractions, and shops featured. And when the series captured the prestigious Paul Broun Award for campaign of the year at the Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference, we knew we had to make more and continue telling the stories that define Dunwoody.
The next 10 chapters in our story are just as interesting and entertaining as the first nine. We hope when you watch you'll be inspired enough to visit. Dunwoody's the word -- we want you to be part of the definition.
Travel is about the Food
Aspiring chefs used to flee Dunwoody to find work. That’s not the case anymore. Our culinary scene has risen to the top faster than a pot of boiling angel hair at our off-the-chain pasta shop famed for its homemade gelato. From the family-owned Italian Market that brings the Bronx to Dunwoody to the Bible-study group that inspired a community craft beer center, Dunwoody's food scene adds new depth every day.
We also have steakhouses worthy of Sinatra. Unpretentious wine bars that educate without lecturing. A European-style market with homemade pastries that you’ll want to share with all your friends. And burgers too — every city needs a classic burger joint.

The Locals Do It, You Can Too
There's a lot to do in Dunwoody. Seek self-care through skincare. Center yourself amidst trees and hammocks. Take a walk in the park with history as your guide. Learn to paint and draw a new group of friends. These are the things that the locals love to do, and here's the thing: you'll love them, too.

Events for the Whole Family
Traditions give families' purpose, a sense of history. The places you go year after year. The things you do. The events you never miss. Dunwoody's signature annual events all have storied histories and humble beginnings. We'd be honored if they became your traditions.

A City isn't a City without Arts
A city’s soul is hollow without art. Art inspires and confuses. It provokes and entertains. It’s spread all over Dunwoody. Meet the playhouse that rivals Broadway. Experience a night of painting unlike any other. Visit the art gallery where Everything will be OK.

Shopping That Sparks Joy
In Dunwoody, we have a very loose definition of shopping. It’s not about spending money. It’s about spreading joy. That can mean volunteering to make care packages for veterans. Or shopping local at our version of a mom and pop (mom and daughter, in this case). OK, we also have the second biggest mall in the Southeast. There’s joy in that, too.
