Dunwoody sits about ten miles north of downtown Atlanta in the Atlanta-Perimeter area, right off I-285 with direct MARTA access. That makes it an easy trip whether you're coming from across town or staying just down the street.

Within a few miles, you can choose between a white-tablecloth anniversary dinner, a tableside churrasco feast, and a lively night grilling wagyu with friends.

Most of the city's steak spots gather around Perimeter Center and Ashford Dunwoody Road, so you can pair dinner with an afternoon at Perimeter Mall or a stroll through High Street.

Here is your guide to the best steakhouses in the city:

McKendrick's Steak House

A Perimeter Center fixture since 1995, McKendrick's steakhouse in Dunwoody sets the mood with warm wood, low lighting, and deep leather booths.

Order the dry-aged bone-in ribeye with a side of four-cheese macaroni with lobster, and save room for the turtle gelato pie. You'll find it in the Park Place shopping center on Ashford Dunwoody Road, and reservations are encouraged.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Across the street from Perimeter Mall in Perimeter Place, Fleming's pairs USDA Prime steaks with the Fleming's 100, a wine list offering 100 selections by the glass.

Go classic with a Prime cut, or treat the table to a Wagyu selection. We recommend arriving early and starting the evening at the bar during Social Hour.

Joey D’s Oak Room

Known for its bold blend of New Orleans and New York cuisine, Joey D’s Oak Room is a place that visitors and residents alike keep going back to for over 30 years.

Their steak is a classic choice, but if you or your party is looking for other options, choose from overstuffed Corned Beef Sandwiches, Spicy Shrimp, and Baby Back Ribs. Then, finish the night with the decadent Croissant Bread Pudding.

There is one Brazilian steakhouse currently in Dunwoody, and another opening soon (more on that below)!

Fogo de Chão

Fogo de Chão brings the Southern Brazilian tradition of churrasco to Dunwoody, with gaucho chefs roasting meats over an open flame and carving them right at your table.

Start with picanha, the signature top sirloin, then keep going with fraldinha and filet mignon. Between rounds, visit the Market Table and Feijoada Bar.

If you want dinner that doubles as the entertainment, these spots put the grill front and center.

If you're looking for a Japanese steakhouse in Dunwoody, Taki brings the show. Grab a seat in a hibachi room and watch your chef sear steak, shrimp, and fried rice right in front of you, or settle in at the 30-foot sushi bar.

At Chubby Cattle, you're the grill master. This all-you-can-eat, Japanese-style BBQ spot inside Perimeter Mall lets you cook wagyu, including Japanese A5, at your own table. Round things out from the buffet line with sushi and dessert, plus unlimited milk tea. Come hungry and bring friends!

Stone Age is another all-you-can-eat spot that keeps the grills hot and the conversation flowing. Cook marinated meats at your table and share banchan like kimchi and pickled radish, or order their hot pot.

Not everyone at the table wants the same thing. These two restaurants serve steak alongside menus that please the whole group.

Stäge Kitchen & Bar

Stäge isn't a steakhouse, but steak holds its own on a menu that also features a 10-seat omakase-style sushi bar. Tucked away at Campus 244 near the Dunwoody MARTA station, it's the perfect choice when half the table wants steak, and the other half wants something unique, like a Caesar Salad Pizza.

The patio opens onto a central greenspace, and for bigger celebrations, a 30-seat private dining room is available.

The Hampton Social

Bright, breezy, and coastal-inspired, The Hampton Social at High Street serves steaks alongside fresh seafood, salads, and pizzas. Pair a steak with the Honey Glazed Salmon for the table, then toast the night under the signature Rosé All Day sign.

With a spacious patio and live music, it's a relaxed option for date night or dinner with friends.

Another Brazilian steakhouse in Dunwoody is on its way.

Adega Gaucha

Adega Gaucha is building its first Georgia location at Twelve24 on Hammond Drive and is targeting an early 2027 opening. Expect gaucho chefs carving more than 17 fire-roasted meats tableside, a gourmet salad bar with over 50 options, and private event spaces.

Join the restaurant's VIP list to hear first when doors open!

A great steak is a fine reason to visit Dunwoody, and there's plenty of things to do in the city to pair with it.

Before dinner, catch an afternoon of shopping at Perimeter Mall or High Street, or let the kids run free at Brook Run Park. Planning a team outing? Dunwoody makes meetings and work events easy. And if dinner runs late, Dunwoody's hotels are just minutes away.
